I’m sure you hear those phrases all the time.
Right?
But why is it that we feel like we have to “complete” ourselves? Are we not FULL complete individuals?
Shaykh Yaser Birjas shares that answer with you in this “Introduction To Finding Your Other Half” video below.

The program looks really good. Few questions I have:
1- How does someone not in the US purchase the DVD?
2- The Sheikh talks a lot about mahram. I don’t have one, unfortunately. I am all alone in this world. Can the program help someone like me to find my other half?
3- Is this program designed to help men and women from different age groups? Or only those below 30?

Masha Allah, i really enjoyed watching the vidoe even though i have not reached the age of marriage yet. Nevertheless, i guess if i start looking at the DVD now, i could start implementing the advice as soon as possible before marriage. Insha Allah.

My comment is very similar to previous one. The DVD sounds like a great program, but I am unwilling for one reason.
The Shaikh does not seem prepared to deal with the issue of sisters who do not have a mahrem. Part of the reason we make the first move on our own or initiate contact through the net is because we don’t have anybody to look after our interests.
When I was in the States, I had about three imams looking for a spouse for me. This yielded no results. Not to mention the matriomonial sessions/retreats I attended that also had no result.
Now, my situation is different because I live in an Islamic country. I understand that only the judge can be my mahrem. How can this person supervise the “matrimonial” process? He just signs the marriage license and that’s it.
So, it seems that I must do some independent searching myself. I understand this program is geared towards Muslims living in North America from traditional (comes from a Muslim family) background, but I think many Muslims could benefit from a broader scope: Muslims from non-Muslim families, Western Muslims living in Muslim lands. Insha Allah, I hope you will take my feedback and incorporate it into your program.

Assalamu alaykum wa rehmatullah. I want to ask something from the Shaykh. A brother sent his parents to my home to meet with my parents as he was interested in marrying me. After his parents visited us, we did not get any response from them. It’s been seven weeks now. The brother himself is confused as to why his parents are taking so long in making up their mind, and he is still waiting for them to make the decision. I am, however, getting very impatient. Am I supposed to keep waiting for him or am I supposed to move forward with my life? Jazak Allah khair.

For those of you who asked, yes the program is still beneficial for those of you without a mahram.
This along with the “Find Your Mr. Right” program is especially important for sisters on their own.
As a convert myself, I totally understand the challenges of not having someone that can help in this role, and it does propose a different set of challenges.
(And you are right, after being used to handling everything else on my own, from job interviews, projects, organizations, school, etc – it does feel natural to just do things alone in this area too..)
However, this DVD program is an ENTIRE system regarding the initial marriage process, and even if you don’t have a family member as a mahram (and an imam too busy to really help.)
Am I will be the first to tell you that the moment you think there is someone you are interested in, you NEED to FIND someone who can act as a third party between the two of you.
